Orphans in Need were primarily established to focus on the needs of Orphaned children, and to hopefully care, educate and nurture the orphans in a loving family orientated environment. This is done either by assisting existing orphanages or by establishing Orphans in Need's own network of orphanages, thereby giving greater control, greater accountability, greater ability to pool or co-ordinate resources and providing a base for further staff training. Since our inception, we have located a number of such orphanages around the world, and have provided them with financial aid, equipment, staff training, educational materials and aids, medicines, clothing and toys. Our aim for these orphanages is to serve, assist, equip and empower orphanage directors and care givers so they can significantly improve the life of each child raised in their children's home in a loving, nurturing and safe environment.
The staff are trained as to how is the best way to care and look after these children, in an environment which is family orientated. Orphans in Need also will finance tuition fees for any of the orphans who wish to pursue higher education and work towards gaining a professional qualification. This would be done under the supervision of the orphanage's Head of education.
	Our vision is to see a trained orphanage leadership and a reliable accounting system in place at all the orphanages we work with. The continued generosity of our donors, allows us to reach more existing orphanages with the training, accountability and financial support they require. However orphan numbers are growing worldwide; in Africa alone there are 12 million orphans, with forecasts predicting that number to increase to 20 million by 2010. Hence there is a great need for many additional orphanages to accommodate the large number of children still awaiting a home.

Orphans in Need are currently fundraising, in order to establish a network of orphanages which will be run by the charity. The aim is to set up orphanages where currently there are none, or the capacity of existing ones is inadequate for the area. Orphans in Need want to provide care which is of a much more personal nature than normally given at most orphanages. We wish to create a close, secure, family orientated environment, in which they are cherished, loved, nurtured, taught independence and encouraged to grow into valuable assets to society.
All the youngsters in our care will receive basic education and be taught skills or a trade. Children from unstable backgrounds or who have not had any formal education will be given extra tutelage and support. The aim would be to ensure the children have as much opportunity to attain an education and gain qualifications, as other more fortunate children. Academically they will all be pushed to their full potential, and after receiving a basic education will be encouraged to enrol at a college or university for further education. Our aim is to encourage, and then finance the orphans to attain professional qualifications, and hopefully go on to become Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Civil servants or some similar vocation. Thus we will endeavour to establish our orphanages where there is easy access to universities, colleges or other institutes of Higher education.
