Orphans in Need have established a fund which is assigned for the alleviation of the fallout caused by natural disasters, war or social unrest. This fund was set aside so that if any problem does befall any of the areas or countries we work in, then Orphans in Need can play a part in the urgent and emergency relief that is needed. The rationale behind the creation of a separate Emergency relief fund is so that any unexpected emergency would not impact on any other Orphans in Need project in the short to medium term.

The aim of the project is to ensure that the supplies that are most needed are transferred to the victims of any emergency in the quickest time possible. In the immediate aftermath of any disaster or war, there is an urgent need for Drinking water, Food ration packs, Blankets, Medicines and Tents. Orphans in Need aims to store, maintain and distribute these items directly to the worst affected areas or peoples. If this is not possible, then we will ensure that the most effective organisation or NGO in the field has access to our materials for distribution.
